Happi Dawgs 1 | Family Dog Basics

This is a basic dog training class ONLY. This is not the type of setting to address aggression or reactivity or fear issues.  If you think your dog might be aggressive, fearful or excessively barks please contact Patty first, before registering for this class to see if this class is a good learning experience for your dog.

There is a late cancellation fee policy AND equipment requirements for this class as well.  Please take note and come prepared for class. There are no transfers or subsitutions.

You will receive a confirmation email that your registration and payment was processed.  If you do not receive an email, please contact us immediately.

In addition, hourly Private dog training lessons at Pet Food Express, Happi Dawgs Home Office, Virtual Lessons or Dog Training Phone Consultations are always available to cover any questions or concerns you have with your dog's behavior.  They are a great option if a class is not starting at a convenient time for you or the current classes are full and you need to wait a bit for the next class. Private lessons are also mandatory for reactive barking dogs, fearful, undersocialized or aggressive dog behaviors.

You Must Pre-Register

To participate in Happi Dawgs 1, you must register online and ONLY come to class on the date you chose and paid for. This class is NOT interchangeable with any other classes.  If you miss a class, there might be another class to observe, at a different time but that is not a guarantee. When you pay for this class you are commited to attend the class you chose, once a week, for 4 weeks, no substitutions.

Each class is ONE hour.  Dogs come to all Classes (note: video is incorrect, we no longer do an orientation without dogs)

Please mark down the class date you registered for in your calendar.  All holidays/No class days are listed on the class registration. This class is for non aggressive dogs ONLY. We meet in a small room, with other dogs and this can be challenging for dogs with behavior issues. If you think your dog might have aggression, dog reactivity challenges or a constant barking challenge please call before registering.  A private lesson/evaluation of your dog might be needed before joining class.

If you have a reservation for class and cannot attend, you must contact Patty and cancel  48 hours in advance of the start of class.

Classes are held  INDOORS, in the Events Room, at Pet Food Express in Roseville

Price is $199 for a 4 week session. Includes handouts, a Free Phone consultation for any questions and a graduation certificate.

Class Description

Happi Dawgs 1 is a semi private class of only 6 dogs or less, and is designed for all dogs 4 months and older. Dogs attend ALL classes.

Our specialized classes are designed for both humans and canines to have fun while learning positive reinforcement dog training techniques. These classes provide you with the dog training tools and knowledge necessary to improve your relationship with your dog.

Your increased understanding of how your dog learns and your dog’s behavior allows you to more effectively train your dog to be the well behaved pet you have always dreamed of!

Benefits:

You will learn how to work with your dog to eliminate jumping, barking, digging, chewing, pulling on leash, inappropriate behavior, housebreaking issues and not coming when called.

You and your dog will learn hand signals and voice instructions for, sit, down, stay, nice leash walking, off, come when called and basic socialization skills. Includes training handouts, free phone consultation and graduation certificate.

Specifics:

  • Each class is 1 hour & only meets once a week for 4 weeks at the designated time. Dogs attend ALL 4 Classes.
    • There are no transfers to other Happi Dawgs 1 Classes
    • No refunds for unattended classes
    • If you cannot make a class, you can observe another class to see what you missed, if available
  • Proof of current vaccinations for Rabies, AND DHPP required.
  • Please bring records to first class. Dogs come to ALL classes.
  • Class meets either on a Monday, or Tuesday, indoors at Pet Food Express, in Roseville.
  • HANDLERS UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE MUST HAVE AN ADULT PRESENT
  • You must give 48 hour notice if you have registered for Class and cannot attend to avoid a late cancellation fee
  • This class is a Basic Dog training class, it is not designed to address issues such as aggression, major fearful behavior or reactivity to other dogs.  Those issues can be resolved in a private lesson setting.   If you think your dog has aggression, reactivity, extreme fear or barking issues then please book a private lesson or a phone consult before registering for this class so we can make sure you are getting the training you need.

PLEASE – No open toed shoes/NO FLIP FLOPS. You will also be participating in training your dog and moving about, so comfortable, closed toed shoes are recommended.

Bring:

A 6 foot Leash, collar or harness (no choke chains, prong collars, extending leashes or slip leads, please)

Your dogs meal and soft, small, nutritious treats for rewarding your dog.  Do not feed your dog before class. A hungry dog will be more motivated to learn for food. Eating also helps calm your dog.

Bring your dog's favorite ball/toy or tug toy. Sometimes dogs won't eat,  even if hungry, and using a toy they like as reward can help them learn in class.
